This festival takes place in the refectory at Dover College, Effingham Crescent, Dover, Kent, CT17 9RH. The venue is accessed via Effingham Crescent. As the venue is in private gated grounds, entry is strictly ticket only. The refectory is a 12th century dining hall still in daily use. Seating will be available for you to sit and enjoy your drinks, with food available from Wild Tayberry. Toilets can be accessed upstairs, so this venue may not be suited to those with serious mobility issues.
What are the session times?
Friday 22nd August 2025 5-9pm )over 18s only)
Saturday 23rd August 2025 12-4pm (families welcome)
Saturday 23rd August 2025 5-9pm (over 18s only)
Last orders will be called 20 minutes before the end of each session.
What if it rains?
This is an indoor event inside the 12th century refectory, so the weather doesn’t matter. Plenty of space to roam, and space to leave your coats. It’s August, so hopefully the weather will be delightful, but please note that access is restricted to the large grassed area in front of the refectory (“the Close”) and inside the refectory.
The venue and organiser accept no responsibility for personal belongings. Items are left at your own risk.
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets are available exclusively from Time & Tide Brewing in person or via their website - www.timeandtidebrewing.co.uk Do not buy tickets from any third-party providers, and do not use links which may be posted on social media. These are e-tickets - you will not be posted any tickets, and do not need to collect tickets in advance. Just bring your email confirmation with you on the day, and ID.
How do I get to the festival?
Easily accessible from the main public transport routes such as Dover Priory train station, and various bus stops nearby with the main one at Pencester Road being approximately 5 minutes on foot.
Use postcode CT17 9RH in Google Maps.
Where do I collect my tickets?
These are e-tickets so we won’t post anything to you, and there is no need to collect anything. Please bring your booking confirmation with ticket details to the event (consider taking a photo as the wifi around Canterbury can be sketchy!).
Is there parking at the venue?
There is no general parking at the venue. You can choose to use one of Dover’s many nearby public car parks, take public transport, or walk to the venue.
If you have mobility issues and need to discuss these, please contact us in advance at sales@timeandtidebrewing.co.uk. Parking may be available for Blue Badge holders, subject to limited availability and prior arrangement. However, it is important to note that all toilets are upstairs which may be problematic for some individuals.
How do I enter the festival when I get to Dover?
Head towards Effingham Crescent and follow the road from whichever direction you arrive from to the large black gates. Entry will require a ticket and ID. Please have your e-ticket ready once you arrive at the gates. As you enter the College grounds, walk ahead and around to the left into the refectory where you will find the event. We advise pre-booking drinks tokens for speedy access.
What is there to do at the festival?
You will plenty of beer to taste, there’ll be music, but you’ll be able to meet friends and chat, with plenty of seating and street food available to purchase too. We will be pouring a selection of beers ranging from hoppy IPA’s to sours, lagers, alcohol free beers and imperial stouts, with some cider, wine, soft drinks and cocktails too. During each of the 3 sessions, you will be able to choose what you want, and pay for it as you go using a simple voucher system. These can be purchased in advance and collected when you arrive, or you can purchase on the day. We strongly advise buying at least one token in advance to enable fast access into the event when you first arrive. They come in £10 strips, but can be purchased in smaller amounts of preferred.
Guests are able to enjoy the 12th century refectory, and may enjoy the areas immediately outside the refectory (“the Close”) if preferred. Please bring a picnic blanket if you wish to sit outside. Please respect the neighbouring properties at all times, and be aware that the site is strictly non smoking and non-vaping in all areas, including the outside spaces. Smoking and vaping must take place outside of the main entry gate.
Is it just beer?
As well as the wide range of kegged beers, there will be specially curated cider, plus a small offering of wine, cocktails, and soft drinks. It is predominantly a beer festival, but there will be alternatives, and of course free water.
How do I buy beer at the festival?
The festival will operate a voucher system for you to use to purchase beer. You can buy vouchers when you book your tickets, and then collect them when you arrive, or you can buy them when you arrive. Contactless payments are preferred.
Beers will be sold in 1/2 pint and 1/3 pint measures. Glass-rinsing facilities will be available. Any unused vouchers will not be refunded, but we will be happy to sell the vouchers in smaller (lower) amounts to enable you to minimise any risk of wastage (eg £2, £5 or other denominations!). We will also have cans to take away this year which you can use your vouchers towards, and top up with card payments as required.
How much will the drinks cost?
We want people to come along and drink brilliant beer. We want to keep our costs as low as we can to make it accessible, whilst balancing the actual costs incurred in arranging an event such as this. Prices will start from the equivalent of £1.80 per third (£5.40 per pint).
